Why work with an LGBTQ+ realtor in Asheville?
You don't need an LGBTQ+ agent to buy a home in Asheville. There are good realtors here who will represent you professionally regardless of your identity. But here's what I bring that most agents can't: I moved here in 2019 specifically because Asheville felt like a place where I could be fully myself, and I've spent years getting to know the community from the inside — not from a relocation brochure.
When you ask me which neighborhoods have visible queer community, I'm answering from firsthand knowledge — the coffee shops that are community gathering spots, the local businesses that are genuinely welcoming, the streets where you'll see Pride flags year-round because people mean it, not because it's June. That's not something that shows up in a market report, but it shapes where you end up living.
I also understand concerns specific to queer buyers that often go unspoken in a standard real estate conversation. Unmarried couples need to make intentional decisions about how to title property — joint tenancy versus tenancy in common carries very different implications if something happens to one partner. Name changes on deeds and mortgages need to be handled correctly if you're in the middle of a transition. These aren't hypotheticals — they come up and I know how to navigate them.
The Asheville market post-Helene has also created specific dynamics worth understanding honestly. Some areas near river corridors saw real damage. Others that looked scary on the map came through fine. Flood zone designations have shifted. Insurance costs have changed. I was here through all of it and I'll tell you the truth about any neighborhood you're considering — not just the marketing version.
And for buyers who are choosing Asheville specifically because they want to be part of an LGBTQ+ community: I can help you think through that honestly too. Asheville is genuinely welcoming, but it's a small city. The dating pool is small. The nightlife options are limited compared to Atlanta or Brooklyn. If that matters to you, I'd rather tell you now than have you surprised in month three. My job is to help you find the right home, not to sell you Asheville.
What I can help with
Buyer Representation
Full representation from search to keys — neighborhood guidance, offer strategy, inspection support, and closing coordination. Typically no out-of-pocket cost to you.
Remote Buyer Support
Video walkthroughs, Zoom consultations, and the ability to represent you at offers without you being physically present. Half my clients buy from out of state.
LGBTQ+ Relocation Consulting
Neighborhood-by-neighborhood community intel, honest post-Helene flood zone guidance, and connections to LGBTQ+-welcoming lenders, inspectors, and attorneys.
First-Time Buyer Education
NC's contract process is different. I'll walk you through due diligence fees, what to look for in an inspection, and what closing actually costs — no surprises.
Seller Representation
Listing services for Asheville homeowners, including LGBTQ+ sellers who want an agent who knows their buyer pool.
Referral Network
LGBTQ+-welcoming lenders, home inspectors, real estate attorneys, movers, and contractors — all pre-vetted from real transactions.
How this works, step by step
Book a Fit Call
20 minutes on Zoom or phone. Free, no commitment, no script. We figure out whether working together makes sense.
Neighborhood deep-dive
I send you a prep doc and we go deep on neighborhoods, budget, and timeline. If you're remote, we do this over Zoom with map screen-shares.
Active search
I set up custom MLS alerts and preview homes that fit. You get video walkthroughs and my unfiltered takes — not just listing descriptions.
Offer and negotiation
When you find the one, I help you price the offer, structure due diligence, and negotiate. I'll tell you if I think you're overpaying.
Inspection and due diligence
We hire a local inspector, go through findings together, and decide what to ask for in repairs or credits. This is where experience pays off.
Close and welcome home
NC closings are handled by a real estate attorney. I'll be there (or on the phone if you're remote). Keys, done.

"When my wife and I decided we wanted to buy land in Asheville, we both immediately knew we wanted to work with Dylan. He, and his team, were professional, insightful, and helpful throughout the process. He always responded quickly and stayed on top of things, so we didn't have to worry about anything falling through the cracks. I feel very confident in recommending Dylan as a realtor."

"I truly cannot say enough about how phenomenal Dylan is and the level of professional expertise he brought to our home-selling experience. After a discouraging and unsupported experience with another realtor, we were hesitant and frustrated — but from the moment we hired Dylan, everything changed. He came in with a clear plan, sharp market insight, and the confidence we desperately needed. Instead of relying solely on basic "comps," he dug deeper into the data to strategically price our home in a way that would actually drive movement. We saw more activity in one week with Dylan than we did in two months with our previous agent. Bottom line: Dylan gets results. He's strategic, proactive, and truly committed to his clients."
